As a research coordinator, I currently assist with a large, multi-center study funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) that aims to improve the health and well-being of adolescents and adults with sickle cell disease. Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling, Â鶹ÊÓƵ
Topics: Career Exploration, Life After College, College Major Selection
Thank you for visiting my profile! I am a proud Â鶹ÊÓƵ Alumna and a passionate higher education professional. I currently work as an Academic Advisor at Drexel Univeresity. I became interested in academic advising, because it enables me to combine my two greatest interests – helping others and engaging in the world of higher education. When I started college, I knew I wanted to work with people. What I did not know was how much I would fall in love with academia. Through taking an experimental psychology class and completing various research projects related to music preferences, mindfulness, and spirituality, I discovered an enthusiasm for learning, researching, and being a part of the higher education community. While pursuing my master’s degree in mental health counseling, I realized that I could incorporate both of my interests by becoming an academic advisor.
